The NED Alumni Association of Washington, DC (NEDA-DC) is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization that aims to promote education for underprivileged individuals and foster cooperation among alumni of NED University of Engineering and Technology. Established in [year], our organization is driven by a mission to provide scientific and financial support to deserving students at NED University in Karachi, Pakistan, as well as to educational initiatives in underdeveloped and impoverished areas of Karachi and Washington, DC.
NEDA-DC is registered as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization under the Internal Revenue Code, operating exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes. Our specific objectives include:Â
- Supporting students at NED University of Engineering & Technology in Karachi, Pakistan, through scholarships, grants, and other financial assistance programs.
- Assisting underprivileged and economically disadvantaged children in Pakistan to access quality education by funding their tuition, books, and other educational expenses.
- Developing and implementing innovative educational programs for school-age children in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, with a focus on underserved communities.
- Providing relief and aid to individuals and communities affected by natural disasters or calamities.Â

NEDA-DC is committed to operating with complete transparency and accountability. No part of our earnings benefits any individual member, trustee, officer, or private person. We are authorized to pay reasonable compensation for services rendered and make distributions that further our 501(c)(3) purposes. We do not engage in propaganda or participate in political campaigns for or against any candidate for public office.
Functions:
Establish, promote, and support relationships, understanding, and interaction between NED alumni through networking events, reunions, and other social gatherings.
Create and facilitate opportunities for NED alumni, students, and faculty to contribute to NEDA-DC’s mission through volunteering, mentorship programs, and collaborative projects.
Highlight the achievements and contributions of NED and its alumni in upholding the mantra “NED-ians for a Better World” through recognition programs, awards, and publicity initiatives.
Collaborate with the NED International Alumni Network of North America and other NED alumni associations to achieve significant progress in educating the underprivileged and advancing the cause of quality education.
Initiate and support efforts for promoting scientific and educational awareness through seminars, workshops, and public outreach programs.
Encourage increasing awareness of responsibilities and community integration among NED alumni and the broader community in the United States.
Organize social and cultural programs, providing opportunities for family interaction and entertainment, with the goal of raising funds for NEDA-DC’s charitable, educational, and scientific projects.
Through our dedicated efforts, NEDA-DC strives to make a meaningful impact on the lives of deserving students and underprivileged communities, both in Pakistan and the Washington, DC area.
